McFARLEY'S (Ríl Mhic Fhearghaile). AKA and see "Falls of Ballisodare (The)," "Maids of Castlebar (The)." Irish, Reel. Ireland, Donegal. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title "McFarley's" is what Donegal fiddler John Doherty called this tune, a northern Ireland version of "Maids of Castlebar (The)," a variant of the well-known reel "Maid Behind the Bar (1) (The)." It is a popular reel in County Donegal, recorded by several fiddlers from that region. County Sligo/Philadelphia fiddler John Vessey gave the both the titles "Gatehouse Maid (The)" and "Falls of Ballisodare (The)" for the reel in a 1957 recording.
