MILLINER'S SHOP, THE. English, Jig. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody (and dance instructions) first appeared in John Hinton's Universal Magazine of Knowledge and Pleasure (London, 1756). It also was printed in John Johnson's 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 8 (London, 1758) as well as Charles and Samuel Thompson's 1757 collection.
