Composed by Scottish bandleader, music publisher, fiddler and composer biography:Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831), printed in A Fifth Collection of Strathspeys Reels (Edinburgh, 1809). Thomas Douglas, the 5th Earl of Selkirk, married in 1807 Jean Colvile (d. 10.06.1871), daughter of James Wedderburn Colvile of Ochiltree.
