WEST CORK REEL, THE. AKA and see “Spailpin Fanac (2) (The)/Spailpin Fanach (2) (The).” Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’B. The tune is played in Ireland’s Sliabh Luachra region as a polka in the key of ‘D’ major. The alternate title “Spailpain Fanach” comes from Joe Conway from Rathmore, reports Alan Ward in the booklet to Julia Clifford’s album.
