WE'RE A' KISS'D SLEEPING. English, Scottish (2/4 time). G Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDDEEFFGGHH. The air, variation sets and a final jig were published by cellist-composer James Oswald in his Caledonian Pocket Companion, Book XI (1760, p. 114), and also, around the same time, by London publisher David Rutherford in his Rutherford's Compleat Collection of 200 country Dances, vol. 2 (1760, p. 86). "We're a' kiss'd sleeping" also appears in the MacFarlane Manuscript.
