CALLAHAN [2]. American, Reel (cut time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune was transcribed by A. Porter Hamblon and John Marshall Gillaspy from the playing of A. Porter's father, Williamson Hamblon (1846-1920). Three generations of fiddlers are represented in the Hamblon MS, including grandfather David Hamblon (1809-1893), originally from Cumberland Gap, Lee County, western Virginia. The tune is different than Stepp's "Callahan (1)."
