I WISH MY LOVE WERE IN A MIRE. Scottish, Air (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune also appears, labeled a 'new set', in the (James) Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768), and it was entered into the music manuscript collections of James Ballantine (1770, Peeblesshire) and John Rook (1840, Waverton, Cumbria).
