D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The air is the vehicle for the song of the title. Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin says the tune is associated with the West Clare piper Garret Barry (1847-1899). O’Neill (Irish Folk Music) thinks it “closely resembles” his “Frieze Breeches” and “O’Gallagher’s Frolics.”
