SCOTS RANT. English (Scottish?), Jig (6/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody appears in the Supplement to John Playford’s (1623-1686) 3rd edition of his Dancing Master (1657). Scottish music enjoyed a vogue in London for some time.
