COTTAGE GROVES. AKA and see "College Grove (The)," "Millstone (1) (The)," "New Domain (The)." Irish, Reel. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Daniel Michael Coleman (in liner notes to Shanachie 29009) says "Cottage Groves" was the original name for the tune, and that the name "The Millstone" seems to have first appeared in recorded literature after James Morrison recorded it in the early 20th century.
