AER NA MAIDNE. AKA and see "Irish Air (2)," "Morning Air (The)." Irish, Air. G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Glasgow publisher James Aird printed the tune in his Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs, vol. 4 (1796, p. 66) as "Irish Air (2)". Edinburgh publisher George Thomson published the melody set by Ludwig Beethoven [25 Irische Lieder, WoO 152] in his Select Collection of Original Irish Airs (1814). The "Morning Air" title is short for a song called "Morning air plays on my face (The)," that employs the tune.
