ANNAN BRIDGE. English, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The melody appears in the large 1840 music manuscript collection of musician John Rook, of Waverton, Cumbria. Annan is the name of a town and river just over the border from Cumbria, in the Scottish county of Dumfries and Galloway. Annan Bridge, a stone bridge of three arches spanning the River Annan, was built between 1824 and 1827 and was designed by Robert Stevenson, constructed by John Lowry.
