BEAU'S RETREAT, THE. English, "Old" or Triple Hornpipe (3/2 time). A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears with longways dance instructions in publisher John Young's 1718 and 1728 editions of The Dancing Master (London), and in Walsh's Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing Master (London, 1719).
