BLUE GARTERS, THE. Irish, Reel. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B (O'Neill {1850}): AA'BB' (O'Neill {Krassen}). The melody was recorded by Québec fiddler Joseph Allard in 1930 under the title "Reel de la tuque bleue," while Canadian 'down-east' style fiddler Don Messer later produced a similar variant called "Snowshoer's Reel (1) (The)."
