BOY OF MY HEART, THE. Irish, Air (6/8 time, "gaily"). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Fr. John Quinn finds O'Neill's air to be a version of the song air "Thugamar Féin a Samhradh Linn" (We brought the summer with us), similar to the setting printed by collector Edward Bunting.

Source for notated version: Chicago Police Sergeant James O'Neill, a fiddler originally from County Down and Francis O'Neill's collaborator [O'Neill].

Printed sources: O'Neill (Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies), 1903; No. 261, p. 45.
