CHRISTMAS DAY IN THE MORNING [5]. AKA and see: "Basket of Oysters," "Bunch of Roses," "Green Sleeves," "Green Slives," "Greensleeves (3)." English, Air or Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A version of "Greensleeves" from the c. 1812 music manuscript collection of Northumbrian musician John Bell [1] (1783-1864). Matt Seattle finds Bell's "Christmas Day in the Morning" title to be ideosyncratic for the "Greensleeves" tune; there are no other examples.
