COCK OF THE MIDDEN [1]. AKA and see "I'll Have Her in Spite of Her Minnie," "Moor so wett." English, Jig. England, Northumbrian. G Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). The tune appears under this title in the Joseph Crawhall music manuscript of 1872. Matt Seattle [1] is of the opinion that the tune belongs to the Border pipe rather than the Northumbrian smallpipe repertoire. Piper Robert Bewick has this title in his "List of Northumbrian Pipe Tunes", but has the actual tune in his manuscripts under the title "I'll Have Her Awa In Spite Of Her Minnie."
