CORONATION DAY, THE. English, Country Dance Tune (2/2 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB. The tune was printed by Henry Playford and was new to the 10th edition of the Dancing Master (London, 1698). It was retained in all subsequent editions of the long-running series through the 18th, printed in 1728 (by John Young, heir to the Playford publishing concerns).
