FIDDLER'S FROLIC [2], THE. AKA and see "Maude Miller (1)." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB.

Patrick Stack

Source for notated version: Patrick Stack (Chicago) [O'Neill]. Patrick Stack was a fiddler originally from north County Kerry, and the source for several tunes in the O'Neill collections. He recorded several sides for Victor Records, paired with piper Eddie Mullaney. It was Stack into whose hands the Rice-Walsh manuscript devolved, which contains portions of the repertoire of North Kerry fiddle master Jeremiah Breen. Stack loaned it to O'Neill, who garnered a number of tunes from it for his Waifs and Strays (1922).

Printed sources: O'Neill (Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody), 1922; No. 305.
