HANLY'S TWEED. AKA - "Hanley's Tweed." AKA and see "Harvest Moon (2)," "Paddy O'Brien's Reel (2)." Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. “Hanly's Tweed” was composed by accordion player Paddy O'Brien [1], from Newtown, near Nenagh, County Tipperary. The story goes that the title honors a prize O'Brien won playing with the Ormond Ceili Band; bolts of tweed from John Hanly & Co. Ltd., a family-owned and operated weaving and manufacturing business near Nenagh.
