The tune was popularized in modern times by the Kilfenora Ceili Band who recorded it on their 1960 LP, however it is an older tune and appears Ryan's Mammoth Collection ("Eviction (The)") and Canon James Goodman's mid-19th century music manuscript collection ("New Glenath (The)").
