HEN'S MARCH [2], THE. Scottish, Pipe Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'CC'DD'. Composed by piper Donald MacLeod (Lewis), Pipe Major of the Seaforth Highlanders. MacLeod was driving near Arderseir and hit a hen; the fowl was stunned, not killed, and its peculiar gait after the accident inspired the tune.
