HONORABLE MRS. MAULE OF PANMURE'S FAVORITE, THE. Scottish, Air (6/8 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831) for one of his primary patrons. According to the Blackwood’s Edinburgh Magazine (Vol. 9, No. LI [51], June 1821, p. 64), The Hon. Mrs Maule of Panmure passed away in Ireland in June 1821. A companion air is "Honorable Mr. Ramsay Maule's Favorite (The)." The air was copied by Scottish musician James Webster into his music manuscript collection of 1831-1839 (held a Univ. of Aberdeen).
