HUPPES TAIAUTS, LES (The Clever Hounds). AKA and see "Hip et Taiau," "Hip et Taiaud." Cajun, Two-Step (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. The French word Huppe, used colloquially, means clever while taiaut comes from the English shout tally-ho, and refers to a hound dog -- thus Francois' "Clever Hounds", though there are other interpretations of the title.
