JIG AWAY THE DONKEY. AKA - "Jigging the Donkey." AKA and see "Dark Haired Lass (2)," "Fair Haired Lass," "Merry Harriers (The)," "Mick Hoy's." Irish, Reel. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was played in a set with "Piper on Horseback (The)/Mist on the Mountain (The)" by northern Irish musicians Frankie Kennedy (flute) and Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh (fiddle) on tour in America in the mid-1970's.
