JOE DERRANE'S JIG (Port Sheosaimh Uí Dhearáin). AKA and see "Bit of Ginger," "Fisherman (The)," "Fisherman's Lilt (2)," "Lilting Fisherman (The)," "Lissalumna Fiddler," "Paddy's Resource (2)." Irish, Double Jig. G Major ('A' part) & D Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Alternate titles come from the Leitrim Ceili Band ("Lissalumna Fiddler"), Liverpool Ceili Band ("Fisherman (The)"), Richard Carlin ("Paddy's Resource (2)"). The tune was attributed by Derrane and O'Brien (ih his 1940 accordion instructor) to New York fiddler Paddy Killoran, originally from County Sligo.
. The tune appears as "Bit of Ginger" on the Copley records reissue of Derrane and O'Brien's 1953 78 RPM recording.
