JOINTURE [1], THE. AKA – "Joynture (The)." AKA and see "Ta ma ma Chulla's na dousha me." Irish, Air (3/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. One of the supposed seven or eight hundred compositions of the ancient harper Thomas O'Connellan (see note for "Breach of Aughrim (The)"). The melody was printed in John Mulholland's Ancient Irish Airs [1] (Belfast, 1810). An earlier version of the air, under the title "Ta ma ma Chulla's na dousha me," was printed by John & William Neal in their A Collection of the Most Celebrated Irish Tunes (Dublin, 1724).
