KICK THE ROGUES OUT. AKA and see "Kick the Scrubs Out," "Kick the World before You (2)." Scottish, English; Jig (9/8 time). England, Northumberland. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest printing of the tune in Robert Bremner's 1757 collection. It is one of the "missing tunes" from William Vickers' 1770 Northumbrian dance tune manuscript. The tune was also printed in Neil Stewart's Select Collection of Scots English Irish and Foreign Airs Jiggs & Marches (London, 1788). 18th century musicians' manuscript collections containing the tune are those of fiddlers Thomas Hammersley (1790, London), and George White (1790, Cherry Valley, N.Y.).
