KICK THE WORLD BEFORE ME. English, Scottish; Country Dance Tune (9/8 time) or Slip Jig. D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in several of London publisher John Walsh's publications, including The Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing Master (editions of 1735 and 1749) and Caledonian Country Dances. It was also printed by John Johnson in Wright's Compleat Collection of celebrated country Dances, vol. 2 (London, 1742). See also the similarly-titled "Kick the World Before You (1)."
