KIPEEN SCANLON'S HORNPIPE. Irish, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by County Cavan/Philadelphia fiddler and composer Ed Reavy (1898-1988) in honor of fiddler Kipeen Scanlon, one of the fiddlers who was supposed to have had a profound effect on Sligo/New York Irish fiddle master Michael Coleman. Coleman is said to have told Reavy that Scanlon was the best fiddler in Ireland (Joseph Reavy).
