LANCIER BOUCHARD (premiere partie). AKA and see "Bride of the Wind." French-Canadian, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. This is the first part of a quadrille arranged and recorded by Québec fiddler Joseph Bouchard (1905-1979). The whole piece was in five parts, and was issued on Bluebird recordings B-1138, B-1139 and B-1140 in 1938. However the first piece in the set appears to be closely based on a tune called "Bride of the Wind(s)", particularly in the first strain (the second strain differs melodically).
