LANGO LEE. NEW WAY. AKA and see "Lango Lee (1)," "New Langolee (2)." Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Unknown provenance. The "Lango Lee" tunes were identified as Irish, perhaps stemming from its appearance in the stage production The Irish Fair (1772), and later advertised as "a favourite Irish song" on song sheets, etc. Evidence for an Irish provenance is wanting, however. See also "New Langolee (2)" for more versions.
