LASS OF BALLINTRAE [2]. AKA - "Bonny Lass of Ballantrae (The)." Scottish, Reel. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Surenne): AAB (Gow, Stewart-Robertson). The tune appears in Joseph Lowe's 1844 collection where it is attributed to Captain Fraser (musician and collector Captain Simon Fraser, although it does not seem to appear in any of Fraser's collections). The reel was collected in Ireland in the very early 20th century in south County Armagh by the Rev. Luke Donnellan. See also the related Irish reel "Flags of Dublin (1) (The)."
