LAUREL BUSH, THE. AKA - "The Laurel Tree." Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Flaherty, Taylor): AABB (McNulty, Vallely). The first strain of this tune is cognate with a large number of dorian-mode tunes in the "Reel of Bogie (1) (The) tune family, all of whom share to one degree or another the melody. See also the similar first part of "Lochiel's Rant." "The Gossan/Gasúr that beat his father" is a related tune.
