Back to Little Willie

LITTLE WILLIE. AKA and see "Turkey in the Straw." Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Mississippi. A Major. The melody was recorded in 1939 for the Library of Congress by Herbert Halpert from the playing of Choctaw County, Mississippi, fiddler Charles Long.

Little Willie, in bows and sashes
Fell in the fire and was burnt to ashes,
Nowadays when the weather gets chilly
Nobody likes to poke up Willie [1]
