Back to Lord Breadalbane's Delight

LORD BREADALBANE'S DELIGHT. AKA and see "Mr. Binden's Fancy," "Delvin House (2)." Scottish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. The melody appears in the 4th collection of Biography:Malcolm MacDonald of Dunkeld, a volume dedicated to the Countess of Breadalbane. MacDonald had dedicated his 2nd collection to the Earl of Breadalbane, and the family evidently were patron's of his music. The tune appears in the collections of O'Farrell ("Delvin House (2)") and Aird ("Mr. Binden's Fancy"), and there is a question of provenance--Aird identifies it as "Irish."
