MAID WITHOUT A GOWN, A. AKA and see "B'fhearr liomsa Ainnir gan Gúna/I would rather have a maiden without a gown." Irish, Air (3/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The identical melody, finds Paul de Grae, was printed by collector George Petrie as "B'fhearr liomsa Ainnir gan Gúna/I would rather have a maiden without a gown," printed in Ancient Music of Ireland, vol. 1 (1855, 89). The tune is a 3/4 time setting of the slip jig "Mall Rua."
