MAYBELLE'S JIG. Canadian, Jig. Canada, Cape Breton. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD'. Composed by fiddler Jerry Holland (1955-2009, Inverness, Cape Breton) in honor of pianist Maybelle Chisholm MacQueen of Margaree Forks, Cape Breton. MacQueen came from a musical family that included siblings Cameron and Margaret, and uncles Angus and Archie Neil Chisholm. She was an influential player in her own right and among the first to develop the Cape Breton piano as a solo instrument. See also her composition "Cameron Chisholm's Strathspey."
