MERRY STROLLERS, THE. English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. In addition to the London publisher Samuel, Ann and Peter Thompson's 1788 printing, the tune appears in John Carr's First Book of Cotillions (New York, 1801) and James Hewitt's (1770-1827) Fashionable Repertory... of Country Dances & Waltzes (New York, 1807).
