MISS CAMPBELL, MONZIE(S) [1]. AKA - "Miss Campbell of Monzie's Strathspey." Scottish, Strathspey. D Major (Kerr): C Major (Davie, Glen). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Kerr): AAB (Davie, Glen). The tune appears in Biography:John Bowie's 1789 A Collection of Strathspey Reels & Country Dances; with a bass for the violincello or harpsichord. Bowie (1759–1815) and his younger brother Peter (or sometimes, Patrick) (1763–1846) were natives of the parish of Tibbermore in Perthshire, and earned a living teaching, sponsoring dance assemblies and concerts, and selling music and instruments in Perth.
