MISS ROSS(' STRATHSPEY--OF ELGIN) [1]. AKA and see "Miss Agnes Ross's Reel," "Lasses Look Before You," "Lassie Look Before Ye/You," "Look Before You" (Gow's title). Scottish, Strathspey and Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833), originally published in his First Collection of 1781. It was republished by the Gows as "Look Before You" in Repository, Part Second, 1802. A reel version appears as "Miss Agnes Ross's Reel."
