MISS SPARK'S MAGGOT. English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A ‘maggot’ is a unit of liquid measure, equal to a dram, but also meant something slight or of small consequence. The melody was first printed in John Johnson's Two Hundred Favourite Country Dances, vol. 8 (London, 1758).
