MRS. WARREN HASTINGS ANDERSON. Scottish, Strathspey. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCCDAB. Composed by Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831). Mrs. Warren Hastings Anderson was born Mary Elizabeth Dewar (1794-1848), the eldest daughter of James Dewar, Esq., of Vogrie, and married Warren Hastings Anderson on Oct. 2, 1820, at Vogrie House. Her family of origin were famous for the Scotch whiskey that bears the family name. She gave birth two twin boys in Naples, Italy, in 1829.
