MUSIC FOR A FOUND HARMONIUM. English, Irish; Reel. D Major ('A' and 'B' parts), F Major ('C' and 'D' parts). Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCCD. Composed in 1982 by classically trained British guitarist, composer and arranger Simon Jeffes (1949-1997), on a harmonium found atop a pile of discarded builders' wood. It was popularized through the playing of the Irish group Patrick Street, and was recorded several times in the 1990's. The reel has been used as the theme for an Australian movie entitled Malcolm.
