NEW JORDAN. American, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The source for the tune is Uncle Norman Edmonds [1] (1889-1976), of Hillsville, Virginia.

Norman Edmonds

There is a musically unrelated shape-note hymn called "New Jordan," although the titles may prove to have some kind of association. Norman Edmond's "New Jordan" is reminiscent of, and perhaps cognate with, "Cripple Creek."
