NEW TOWN BRIDGE. AKA and see "Bellharbour (2) (The)," "Mulhaire's Reel," "Rough Road (Th)," "Sailor's Farewell (The)." Irish, Reel. The reel is often attributed to Paddy O'Brien, who did compose a jig called "Newtown Bridge." Martin Mulhaire, for example, called it "O'Brien's" on 78 rpm disc he recorded on the Dublin label. The "Newtown Bridge" title and attribution to O'Brien appearded on the first recording by the group Trian (Billy McComiskey, Liz Carroll, Daithi Sproule).
