NIGHT WE MADE THE MATCH, THE (An oidce do rinneamar an reite/cleamnas). Irish, Hornpipe. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Hans Nathan, in his book about the blackface minstrel Dan Emmett, asserts that strains from this tune contributed to the formation of Emmett's popular "Hell on the Wabash (2)" (Bayard, 1981, p. 352).
