OFF TO SKELLIGS--FIRST FIGURE. Irish, Quardrille Part (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABACA. The second strain of this quadrille figure can be found as the first strain of Prof. Samuel Bayard's Pennsylvania-collected "Down on the Big Sandy". The Skellig Islands [1] (Na Scealaga) are two small, steep, and rocky islands lying about 13 km west of Bolus Head on the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland.
