OLD CROW. American, Irish; Reel (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A tune with this name was cited as commonly played for country dances in Orange County, New York in the 1930's (Lettie Osborn, New York Folklore Quarterly). The first strain is shared with the "Honeymoon Reel (2) (The)" family of Irish tunes that includes "Pure Drop (1) (The)," "Windy Gap (The)," "Maid Who Left the County (1) (The)]," and also with Boston publisher Elias Howe's "Rap Halfpenny Reel (The)."
