OLD STILLHOUSE (IS ALL BURNT DOWN) [1], THE. Old-Time. USA, Missouri. A Major. AEac# tuning (fiddle). In the repertoire of Ava, southwestern Missouri, Ozarks fiddler Bob Holt (b. 1930), learned from the whistling of his father and his Uncle Node's banjo playing, both of whom had it from elderly musicians of two old local families, the Deckards and the Potters. Mark Wilson (Rounder 0436) notes that there appears to be two main branches of tunes with this title, although there may be more.
